If you don't have plans for this weekend yet, head to Carmella's Plates & Pints for restaurant week! Carmella's low-lit chic bar, and hand crafted cocktails and have been my favorite for a while now and what better time to try their food than restaurant week? The price for this three course dinner is UNBEATABLE at $25.17 a person so I couldn't get there fast enough. I was able to snag a reservation for Wednesday night.

You're going to want to get a cocktail here. This is one of the best stocked bars in all of Pittsburgh in my opinion. The Rob Roy is my favorite and if you love a classic Manhattan like me, this is a great one to try. I love Carmella's drink menu because it's very unique and they even infuse their own liquors in-house! I was actually there during their social hour deals, which you can find on their website, so the drinks were a pretty reasonable price which matched the theme of the night.

The restaurant week special is a three course meal with a soup, entree, and desert option. Here's my recommendations if you head there this weekend:
1. Make a reservation. This place was packed all night so do yourself a favor and call ahead of time. The seating area is very small but you can also sit in the bar area to eat if you don't get around to making a reservation. There is a family style round table that surrounds a fireplace in the center of the dining area. I was seated here, which I loved because of the ambiance, but if sitting next to strangers and near a cozy fire place isn't your thing, make sure you request a table!
2. Get the mushroom soup. One of their two soup options is their award winning mushroom soup and it is so delicious. I even saw multiple people order a serving to go when they were on their way out. Yes, its that good.
3. Lamb shank. Lamb shank. Lamb shank. The meat was falling off the bone it was so tender and it was definitely the largest portion of the three entree options (pictured below).
4. Go for the lemon ricotta cheesecake. This cheesecake, like their cocktails, was hand crafted with amazing attention to detail and uniqueness.

There's only 3 days left of restaurant week so make sure you take advantage of these deals! Here is the link again to the other restaurants participating. Let me know if you head to Carmella's and what you think!
