Hey yins. I tried Smoke in Lawrencevile last night and it definitely lived up to it's hype! This little restaurant has a great location right on Butler Street kind of nestled away. Don't let the cash-only and no reservations steer you away from checking this place out because it is totally worth the wait!
The Drinks
As I said, Smoke does not take reservations so plan to hang out for a bit before you're seated. Luckily, they have a great bar and happy hour specials to keep you occupied. Their drink and appetizer deals during happy hour are petty good compared to other trendy-PGH spots around town so this is definitely a place you can hang out and get a few cocktails without going broke! I tried their margarita which was small but amazing, and my friend tried a NY whiskey sour (pictured below) which was incredible!

The Food
Smoke has a decent sized menu consisting of tacos (a very popular item), full BBQ platters, and amazing sandwiches. I went with a small group and we got some of their BBQ platters to share. One of their two-meat platters is plenty for two people because it comes with two choices of meat, two of their sides, two choices of sauce, and one giant piece of toast. They have classic pulled pork, half chickens, brisket, and burnt ends. They also have a wide range of sauces so there is something for everyone whether you like classic BBQ, mustard, creamy sauce, and spicy.

THOSE SIDES THOUGH. If you're obsessed with mac and cheese and think there's no reason to look any further, think again. Although their mac and cheese is amazing they have many other unique and classic BBQ sides to try. We tried the mac and cheese (obv), the broccolini and corn, their BBQ beans, and the most amazing corn bread I have ever had EVER.
Although this place is small, the ambiance is amazing and perfect for a causal drink at the bar, or a great date night! If you head to Smoke be sure to let me know what you think!
